Nina Schumertl
Mezzo-soprano
Nina Schumertl is a German mezzo-soprano, born in 1998 in Erding and trained at the Hochschule für Musik Würzburg. At the inaugural IVC Theatre in Song competition in September 2025, her duo with pianist Amelie Warner won the ANED Fonds Prize for Best Theatrical Concept with their programme Cycle - The Woman I Am.
The award recognises the most coherent and convincing theatrical staging of an art-song programme - a category created for the new IVC format that frames recital as scenic work rather than concert presentation. Schumertl and Warner conceived the programme as a meditation on identity and inheritance, working with movement and lighting alongside the song repertoire.
Since the IVC
Schumertl is reported to be in talks with Askonas Holt for management representation. The signing has not been publicly announced; we are carrying the story tentatively pending confirmation.
