Madeline Saputra

Madeline Saputra is an Indonesian soprano whose duo with Cypriot pianist Apollon Kalamenios swept three prizes at the inaugural IVC Theatre in Song in September 2025 - the 2nd Prize Staetshuys Fund Prize, the Press Jury Prize, and the Vrienden van het Lied Engagements Prize.

The duo's programme, *Keroncong Anemoia / Letters of a Javanese Princess*, drew on Indonesian musical heritage and the letters of Raden Adjeng Kartini, the nineteenth-century Javanese writer and pioneering voice for women's education. The work was presented as a theatrical recital - moving between Western art song and Indonesian keroncong traditions, framed by Kartini's correspondence.

Since the IVC

The programme has been performed at the O. Festival and at the Song in the City Den Bosch series on 21 May 2026. The engagements were part of the Vrienden van het Lied prize package and have introduced the work to new audiences in the Netherlands.
