George Robarts
Baritone
George Robarts is a British baritone whose duo with pianist Edward Picton-Turbervill was honoured with the Junior Jury Prize at the inaugural IVC Theatre in Song in September 2025. The Junior Jury Prize is decided by a panel of young listeners drawn from the Dutch conservatoires, sitting alongside the main jury during the finals and voting independently on the duo whose work most resonated with their generation.
Robarts trained in the UK and has built his early career around the British and German lied repertoire, with a particular interest in mid-twentieth-century song cycles. The duo's competition programme paired canonical lied with newer work, framed as a theatrical recital in line with the format the new IVC competition was designed to support.
Since the IVC
Robarts is continuing his UK-based recital work following the Junior Jury Prize. Specific 2026 dates were not announced at the time of writing.
