The Grand Finale of the 59th IVC Opera & Oratorio brings the competition's remaining singers to the stage of Theater aan de Parade for a full evening with orchestra. Performers take on opera and oratorio repertoire across multiple style periods, accompanied by philharmonie zuidnederland under the baton of Grammy-winning conductor Karen Kamensek.
A small number of finalists also perform the mandatory contemporary work "Feathers" by Anne-Maartje Lemereis with orchestral accompaniment, written specifically for the 59th edition.
Prizes
The 59th edition carries a total prize pool of €50,000, anchored by the Grand Prix 's-Hertogenbosch (€15,000) and the Toonkunst Prize (€7,500), alongside a range of engagement and special prizes that have launched generations of IVC laureates into the professional world.
Competition rounds run 2-5 October, followed by the career-development week 6-9 October, with the Grand Finale on 10 October.
