Opera | Oratorio

The 57th International Vocal Competition presented the Opera & Oratorio cycle in 's-Hertogenbosch.

Overview

Finalists performed with Philharmonie Zuidnederland under conductor David Parry, supported in the earlier rounds by pianists Markus Zugehör, Fran Hills and Ian Tindale.

The 67 competitors, from 27 countries, appeared before an honorary jury chaired by the celebrated Welsh soprano Dame Gwyneth Jones. Portuguese mezzo-soprano Cláudia Ribas took the Grand Prix 's-Hertogenbosch, and went on to win three further prizes: the Wagner Prize Netherlands, the ANED Fonds Audience Prize, and the Junior Jury Prize.
